Media Invited to NASA’s Laser Communications Demonstration Launch

U.S. media accreditation has opened for an upcoming rocket launch with a NASA payload that aims to enhance communications capabilities for the agency’s future missions, including the potential to increase bandwidth 10 to 100 times more than radio frequency systems.

  Nambi Narayanan Nambi Narayanan S. Nambi Narayanan (12 December 1941) is an Indian scientist and aerospace engineer and Padma Bhushan award winner . As a senior scientist at the Indian Space Research Organisation ( ISRO ), he was in charge of the cryogenics department. In 1994, he was falsely charged with espionage and arrested. The charges against him were dismissed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in April 1996, and the Supreme Court of India declared him not guilty in 1998. In 2018, the Supreme Court, through the bench of Dipak Misra, awarded Narayanan a compensation of ₹ 5,000,000, to be recovered from the government of Kerala within eight weeks.
